Instruction 05: Nirvana Focus Test

Instruction 05: Nirvana Focus Test employs computer vision technology to challenge conventional notions of ‘knowing’ and ‘intelligence’ within the typical humanist dualist framework. The artwork plays with the mechanistic assumptions underlying western concepts of intelligence by imagining what it would mean for an artificially intelligent algorithm to spiritually awaken, to liberate its ‘self’ from a dualist universe.
